My name is Dawn and I am on a quest to work through “The Love Dare.”  It is a 40-day journey to discover love.

I have been told quite often that my life is an open book, and at 42 there isn’t really any use in attempting to reinvent who I am intrinsically.  At the end of my life, I pray that my successes and failures may have a positive impact on people who know me as well as those who have never met me.  The Internet has truly made this possible.

Okay, here goes…

I have lived in the south suburbs of Chicago for the past 12 years.  I have four children (girls) and four grandchildren (3 girls and 1 boy) and have been married twice, divorced twice and since that engaged twice more.  Currently I am single and that is both by choice and circumstance.  As we journal together, you will understand my two-fold situation.

Anyway, not sure where this will take me/us – but I am willing to travel the road of unknown.  I hope to be as honest as possible as I have spent the last 22 years of my life in an out of dishonest relationships.  There are so many things that I don’t know and hope to discover through other people.  You will find each blog (post) on the right side under the “Daily Blog” listing.  Please be patient with me, as I am learning the different tools used to design, organize and maintain this blog site.

I am currently reading, “The Shack” by WM Paul Young.  It is an awesome story, a journey, through pain and joy and enlightenment.  How a man reconciles the murder of his young daughter with God, whom has come to him via the form of a black fat woman.  This alone instantly shatters his own preconceived beliefs about our Father.  Well, let me just say – pick up the book…

As I am exploring the world of blogging, I am finding out so many things, you know – my AHA moment.  If only Oprah could see me now, or ever for that matter.  Nonetheless, I blog on.

You can find me on facebook – AKA – Dawn Porter.  I also tweet, jeeze meeting so many people, so come along for the ride – http://twitter.com/poetiscian.

Enough about me.

Thank you Jenn – it is friends like you that keep me blogging. And yes, I have so thought about doing some type of marketing on the site, but as you said, this is about healing, in particular, healing our broken relationships. And is some cases just making them better.
